Negative Thoughts/Feelings
Negative Thoughts/Feelings
Description
Negative thoughts and feeling are the most common malady suffered by contemporary men and women. This undesirable human condition ruins not only the lives of those that have little or are afflicted by other challenges, but even those individuals that live privileged lives of plenty. This emotional condition does not discriminate by age, race, religion, wealth or social position. Feeling down because of repeatedly thinking negatively is sadly available to all.
Negative Thoughts/Feelings make what a person has seem worthless. He or she is prevented from appreciating their health, opportunity, and freedom. This condition is an internal projection that colors everything a person has and does.
Fortunately, Negative Thoughts/Feelings can be easily corrected. With consistent self-discipline a person can learn to influence what he or she thinks about. Negative Thoughts/Feelings can be replaced with positive thinking patterns and the corresponding positive feelings.
Symptoms
- Feeling Irritable and Grumpy
- Feeling like the “glass is half-empty”

- Repeating negative event in one’s mind
- Excessively recounting negative event
Statistics
Negative Thoughts/Feelings are not considered a major illness by the medical community and thus there is very little research to substantiate its existence and prevalence. However, books like Think and Grow Rich and programs from achievement specialist like Anthony Robins (and many many others) which are used by millions of people attest to the widespread need and desire to shape thoughts and feelings for the better.
Certainly, everyone suffers at various times from Negative Thoughts/Feelings. When this phenomenon becomes chronic it can lead to anxiety, panic, and depression which afflicts millions.
Examples
Not seeing the good “Negative Thoughts/Feelings”
Susan had a great life. Her husband earned a good living; she had a big home; a nanny; and time each day to do what she wanted. But she was miserable. She felt disliked by her friends (notice the cognitive inconsistency, “disliked by her friends”), that her breasts were too small, and the state she lived was too dark in the winter. This was just her “short” list. It’s not surprising she is unhappy and unable to appreciate all that she has.
Not appreciating real achievement “Negative Thoughts/Feelings”
Don was a successful teacher. He was well liked by his students, parents, and administration. His students consistently achieved high marks in government test`s. But he couldn’t appreciate his achievements. He felt he should have become a child psychologist. Being a “doctor” in his mind was worth something. He berated himself, chastised himself, and depressed himself for not becoming a psychologist. He wore a smile on his face, but inside himself he always felt miserable.
Irrational “Negative Thoughts/Feelings”
Dina had one cancerous breast removed. She was healthy and had a wonderful career and family. Her illness was far in her past, but she wouldn’t let go. She always worried about future illness or felt guilty about enjoying her life – as if she had forfeited her right to be happy.
Prognosis
Treated
With effort, Negative Thoughts/Feelings can be easily eradicated and replaced with positive thoughts and feelings. Our minds are accessible to us and we can learn to choose what we think about. Choose the positive, feel happy, and live a good life appreciating all that you have and anticipating a desirable future.
Untreated
Negative Thoughts/Feelings untreated can spoil whatever you do or have.
Since Negative Thoughts/Feelings is easy to treat, it is a shame when it is allowed to fester and ruin one’s life.

Con
These products are often made and sold by untrained non-professionals. Although their products may help, they may harm, too. It is safe to stay away from products from non-professionals. As well, most self-help products tend to be very broad and present an overwhelming amount of information demanding major time commitments that often lead to frustration and premature quitting.
