Verbal abuse: Poisoned by anger?

by Abe Kass on February 6, 2015

verbal abuse, extreme angerVerbal abuse is one of the most toxic forms of emotional abuse. It takes two people to create abusive relationships—the offender and the victim. Either one alone can stop verbal abuse—is this just a question of how.

Abusive relationships kill good people with expressions of extreme anger

Are you an abused woman or an abused man?

If so, likely it is angry words that are causing the hurt and injury.

Verbal abuse is the means that anger is injected into the mind of another person. Verbal abuse is like the fangs of a snake that inject venom into a person's blood and kill.

Emotional abuse

Typically, the offender sustains his or her emotional abuse by continually bombarding the victim with abusive words.

They sound like this:

You are stupid

You are fat

You are the only one that doesn't know how to do this

Didn't your mother teach you anything?

Don't you have a brain?

Nobody likes you; you have no friends

You cause all our problems

You are worthless

It's your fault I am angry

This list could continue for many pages… but you get the point.

At the core of abusive relationships that often lead to divorce and family breakdown are extreme anger and its derivatives.

Often, emotionally abusive and verbally abusive individuals do not realize that anger is fueling the destruction of their valued relationships… it is as if they are putting poison in their food.

And doing so is just plain STUPID.

Stop abusive and extreme anger

Stopping this the extreme anger and relationship poison is the first step required to successfully recover from verbal abuse.

If you are angry in your relationship, take my free anger management test. It only requires a few minutes. You may not be aware of how angry you are and how seriously it injures everyone around you.

Take the free anger management test

If you require help, I have several anger management books available. One uses positive affirmations, and another has anger management worksheets. Both of these anger management books are available on Amazon.

Believe me, I am not trying to sell you something. Your purchase is just a few dollars to me. What is more important is that you and your family live a healthy and happy life—even if we never meet and I don't know you personally.

If you use verbal abuse to express your anger, you need to stop. Verbal abuse is one of the worst forms of emotional abuse.

If you are verbally abused, you need to make a commitment to yourself that you will seek ways to put an end to it.

Encourage the verbally abusive person to take my anger management test. Perhaps this will open his or her eyes to the damage he or she is causing.

After the anger problem has been identified, next you need to seek practical solutions. You can buy my anger management audiobook with positive affirmations, or you can buy my anger management workbook with anger management worksheets. If either of these solutions are not for you, seek professional help. Or find something else constructive to do…

How you solve this problem is not important. What is important is that you solve it and that you and other family members live with respect, dignity, love and emotional safety.
