Once upon a time, relationships flourished in the land where wisdom prevailed.
Loved blossomed like flowers and bore the fruit of healthy children.
18 marriage rules, aka, the "18 Pearls of Relationship Wisdom," guided each individual, marriages were strong, passionate and long lasting. (No one needed "free marriage counseling — they knew on there own how to build a passionate marriage, and no one wondered how to fix a broken marriage.)
Then along came bad pirates. They stole closeness, honesty, love and more — in fact they took from us each of the 18 Pearls of Relationship Wisdom.
They locked our 18 Pearls of Relationship Wisdom in a treasure chest and then buried it on a desolate island.
These pirate crooks then made cheap replicas of our Relationship Wisdom and sold it on the open market disguised as material goods, pornography and a false sense of liberation! They sought to profit from our need for inner fulfillment.
One man filled his emptiness with womanizing, a lonely woman tried to fill her emptiness with unnecessary clothes and jewelry, man feeling unknown sought fame, and a desperate woman fell into a depression while others drank an did drugs. None of these attempts to live a meaningful life worked. The excitement of their possessions and distractions faded and left them barren.
Everyone grabbed what they could get — but since they were only a cheap imitations they never fully satisfied our need for closeness, honesty and love. The stupidities the pirates gave us always left us hungry and unfulfilled.
